Welcome to Tampa Silent Book Club
A book club for introverts!
Here at Tampa Silent Book Club we work hard to create a community of fellow book lovers. We meet twice a month at local spaces around the Tampa, Florida area. There is no assigned reading, so bring whatever you need to read comfortably and join us anytime!
We meet for two hours, the first half hour is time for you to come in find a seat, socialize, and purchase something from our hosts. Then we read silently for an hour (whatever book you brought!). Then we have another half hour of socializing where we take a group picture.
We have been meeting around the Tampa area since November of 2022. Since then we have grown so much. It is a wonderful space to meet people, have dedicated monthly reading time, and discover new books and spaces.
We meet at Magnanimous Brewing Seminole Heights for our Happy Hour Meeting one Thursday a month from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Sliceadelic is there as well with the best pizza for you to grab for dinner.
Our monthly Sunday meetings change locations so we can experience new places. We tend to meet at breweries because members can spread out and get a beer (or other non-alcoholic drinks) to support our hosts. Please reach out if you know of any locations within 30 minutes of the Tampa area that can host a group of about 60 people for two hours on a Sunday.
Meetings are free and we currently do not require you to RSVP. We do put up a poll on Instagram the day of, and on our monthly Substack meeting post, to get an idea of how many people are joining us. Our meetings are in public spaces, and we are usually not the only patrons, so you are responsible for bringing what you need to focus on your book (headphones, a sweater (IYKYK Florida AC is no joke!).
